It was NOT geared toward younger children. It was acutally Disney's attempt to get another Best Picture nod as with Beauty and the Beast. That's why they decided at the last minute to not have the animals speak, so as to seem a little less childish. Also, the "Savages" montage near the end of the film is a result of animators being told to make the film more dramatic, with Pocahontas running in slo-mo, having her face superimposed over the marching troops, etc. Sorry to criticize, but I have to say this: Tairy is completely WRONG about Pocahontas. They were SO EXCITED! We normally only go to the World in the summer, but this was a special treat...just me & my girls. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was awesome, with Hallowishes an all-time spectacular! But the best part of the night was the Boo-To-You Parade. It was fabulously fantastic, and I wish I could see it every year. Best part-parades!!! I surprised my daughters & told them they had a doctor appointment, then we flew to WDW for MNSSHP. In the world of such high-tech, fast-paced, nonstop commando lifestyle, parades bring us back to more simple times. Now, not to say that Disney parades are simple, but they make you stop and appreciate the timeless tradition of song and dance, story and fantasy, and just interaction between guests and cast members. My family loves parades! Now, I could be a little biased being a dancer and singer, but when the guests are present, parades come to life-it's just like a performance. Without the audience, it's just a rehearsal, and every audience is different and every parade is different at every show. They turned Belle & Beast back into their "natural states", but not Ariel or Tiana & Naveen. But Ariel, Tiana, & Naveen are all reptiles (well, kind of I know, about Ariel) and maybe Florida just couldn't handle that...you know with Gatorland so close ;)...huh? Yeah, getting dumped into gift shops is a big rant for me…just hate that, but then I was thinking…maybe it isn’t money.
